"We planned ourselves", said my good friend

I planned my wedding. I still cherish the memories, memories aged a year and a half. For me, it was a novel, exciting and once in a life time experience. The utter truth is that all the effort you put, all the time you spend, count it in days, months or even in years, and all the money you spend in planning and execution, the majority of them is accounted for a time span of a few hours of a day - your wedding, or two days - in case you are having day two celebrations. Still, I assure, the experience of planning and execution, worth the try. I still recall the taste of the welcome drinks served at all most all the hotels along the southern coast of the island. I like my wedding
photo album, but I prefer to rebuild and replay in memory the video of my wife and myself having hour long arguments to agree on a venue, scratching our heads to limit the invitees so that the number fits the venue and the budget, hours spent to select a background colour for the wedding invitation so that it matches the rest of the arrangements etc. Planning of a wedding involves a lot of stakeholders and a lot of dependencies - some you can control, the others you cannot. For example, if you believe in auspicious time, there's literally nothing you can do to change it, rather you have to adjust your agenda accordingly. At the end of the day, it's YOUR WEDDING, the happy face of your wife/husband, joyful parents, relatives, friends will add value for all the efforts put in the planning phase. Believe me, it's not easy - yet, in my honest opinion, it's an experience one must not miss in his/her lifetime.

Having an academic background with voltage and amperage, I see planning a wedding similar to maintaining the power supply and demand as per the load curve of the island. Imagine a day in the load curve as the span of time of your planning. There's always a base load which you need to pay attention to. Then there are minor peaks, they are important, they contribute to the start of a productive day. Then comes the television peak which is not important, yet you need to supply in order to maintain the BALANCE.
